Our Team

Norman initiated into IAM Local 1053 in 1992, before they merged with Local 447. He held the position of shop steward and recording secretary, before assuming the role of Business Representative in 2008. Norman runs the Buffalo, NY office, servicing upstate NY and the Midwest.

In addition to his service to the Union, he volunteers with the North Tonawanda Football Hall of Fame. He enjoys hunting, fishing and motorcycling. Norman lives in Wheatfield, NY with his wife Carrie. Together they have a daughter and twin sons.

Mike has been an IAM Member since 1992. He served as a Shop Steward and Chief shop steward while employed at the MBTA. He also has served as Local Lodge 264 Recording Secretary, Secretary Treasurer of the New England Conference of Machinists, and the Secretary Treasurer of Eastern States Conference of Machinists. Mike became a District 15 Business Representative in April of 2009.

In August of 2016, Mike was appointed as the Area Director out of the New England office and was then appointed as District 15 Assistant Directing Business Representative in August 2017.

Mike Vartabedian also currently serves as the Vice President on the Massachusetts State Council of Machinists, Vice President of the New England Conference of Machinists, Vice President MA AFL-CIO and the President of the Eastern State Conference of Machinists.
